Athletic Background:
I played Varsity Lacrosse and Tennis in high school. I adore the kind of football you play with your feet but have never been much good at it. If I am not watching derby, I am cheering on Liverpool FC season after disastrous season. And YES, I was a cheerleader.
Favorite Derby Story:
Probably when our "C-Team" (Gang Green + Kitty) got to play Rubber City's B-Team and I actually got lead jammer, scored 4 points, and called it off. It was my first time jamming outside of scrimmage! But if you want to hear a REALLY good story, ask Pearl Rogi about the giant, cement, martini-drinking elephant outside Evansville, IN.
Derby Heroes:
I am not a jammer but who doesn't want to be like Bonnie Thunders?
Also- Hell Camino for finally getting me into Derby after listening to me whine about wanting to do it for 5 years.
Other Heroes:
Charles Darwin, Doctor Who, Pelle Almqvist and my pug, Gogol.
Favorite Derby Gear:
Knee gaskets (it's like landing on air!) and my Union Jack Nutcase helmet
Other Hobbies:
I engage in unhealthy amounts of knitting. I also drink lots of tea, bake, read like crazy, and solve NYTimes crossword puzzles. I'm basically Miss Marple on skates.
Favorite Meal & Drink:
Fish & Chips and a pint of Double IPA.
Favorite Book:
At the risk of sounding like the biggest dork on the planet, I devour 19th century novels and enjoy reading about Evolutionary Biology. I also own more cookbooks and knitting pattern books than anyone under the age of 30 ever should.
Favorite Movie or TV Show:
Anything involving Karl Pilkington!
Derby Name Story:
It's a play on the word Anglophile. I've been inexplicably obsessed with all things English since I was very young. Hail Britannia.
