Athletic Background:
I've played sports all my life.
In high school I compiled 12 varsity letters. (I think that's still the record there).
I also played AAU basketeball, club soccer and club softball.
In college I played softball for 4 years and after graduation went back for another semster and played soccer for a season. (College life is awesome in itself, but even better when you're there and have already received your degree!!)
Favorite Derby Story:
Beating Naptown in their house in 2009 was a pretty big moment for us.
Beating Grand Raggidy in our house in 2010 was another memorable win.
Derby Heroes:
Several of OHRG members that have been around since the inuagral year. Without their work and dedication I would have never had the opportunity to play this amazing sport.
With so many awesomely talented skaters it's hard to pick even a handful. However it's the skaters that leave the show-boating to someone else that I respect the most.
Other Heroes:
My mom first and foremost.
Michael Jordan (hence the 23)
And Oprah Winfrey. (don't laugh, I'm serious)
Favorite Derby Gear:
My skates-duh
Other Hobbies:
Working at Nationwide Insurance.
Hitting the gym or checking out one of Columbus' many awesome events.
Favorite Meal & Drink:
Scallops and Cherry Vodka and diet.
Or Pizza and the above drink.
Favorite Book:
It's impossible to choose a favorite, but a recent read was pretty inspirational.
Even Silence has an end by Ingrid Betancourt. It's a amazing testiment to the human spirit and what we are all truly capable of.
Favorite Movie or TV Show:
Oprah. Thank goodness she is starting her own network after he show goes off air!
Favorite Derby Move:
swooping hits. The timing makes it special.
Derby Name Story:
I like the story behind the phoenix. I couldn't go with just phoenix, so I had to come up with an addition. Referencing my bunz seemed like a natural fit.
Write Your Own:
What motivates you on the track?
To be the best and to make my teammates better.
