Phoenix Bunz
Number: 23
Motto: Wherever you Go,
Go with all your Heart - Confucius
Although the actual birthplace (it is thought to be not of this earth) of Phoenix Bunz has never been exposed, the discovery of this mythical-being occurred on a fiery summer’s night in 1984. News had just broken that the elementary school’s renowned playground had been set ablaze. One concerned mom who lived down the street with her three rambunctious boys decided to go check things out for herself. Upon seeing the toasted devastation, the mom was saddened. As a teardrop fell from her face, she caught the reflection of something twinkling in the field adjacent to the playground.
The toddler had crimson and purple streaked hair interwoven with feathers. The young mom hovered over the girl, astonished at the way her hair stood tall, as if it was being drawn towards the stars. Even in the dark, the small child’s blue eyes twinkled reflecting the reds, golds and purples of the fiery night. The mother was immediately infatuated with the girl and although she loved her boys, she had secretly yearned for a daughter of her own. So the decision was made, the divine child, and sole evidence of the blaze, was taken into the Dollins’ household.
The next day the small child was introduced to the Dollins boys. With no identification on the child, the mom thought it would be a good bonding experience for the boys to name their new family member. It was the eldest, the rebellious intellect, whom introduced the name Phoenix. The younger two, still building their vocabulary, contributed Bunz. Not wanting to disappoint any of her children, the mom combined the two and Phoenix Bunz was launched. Given the strange arrival and survival of the girl, Phoenix Bunz seemed appropriate. The boys did not waste any time including Phoenix Bunz in their rough housing. Their mom was initially concerned her only girl would be hurt by the boy’s overzealousness, but it was quickly evident that Phoenix Bunz possessed a sort of regenerative trait. She had an infallible sense of fearlessness and could withstand the toughest of falls, escaping without a scratch. It was obvious that this child could hang with any boy on the block. Luckily for the Dollins clan, their mother embraced their energy and channeled it into athletics. Phoenix quickly excelled in the athletic realm, but it was not until her mother bought her skates that she finally found where she belonged. Skating gave Phoenix the freedom she always desired. She loved the way the wind blew through her hair and the speed at which her skates allowed her to propel through the atmosphere. Her skates made her believe that she could fly. Although Phoenix wanted nothing more than to spend her life skating, education was not an option in her household. Thus, like any obedient daughter, she went to school, obtained some degrees and joined the corporate world, removing her feathers of course. It was in the fall of 2007 that she ran into the Ohio Roller Girls- The planets finally collided, she knew this was where she was meant to be. When the Sprockettes invited her to join their realm, she knew it was a perfect fit. She had found a place where being an alien simply meant belonging and Phoenix Bunz was happy she could embrace he own extraterrestrial-like characteristics.
